United States: Danyel Smith Speaks Up on Threats by Rapper Sean "P. Diddy."

October 17, 2024 - Los Angeles, United States

Women Press Freedom stands with journalist Danyel Smith, who has bravely spoken out about the threats she received from rapper Sean "P. Diddy."

No journalist—especially women and LGBTQI+ journalists—should face intimidation for doing their job. As Diddy faces charges for sexual crimes, Danyel’s account highlights the abuse of power in the industry.

WPF has tracked cases of sexual harassment and abuse against women journalists for over six years, documenting 14 instances in the U.S. between 2020-2022. We support Danyel in her decision to speak up and remain committed to exposing these ongoing threats.
