Hackers targeted Russian journalist Kseniya Larina's Telegram channels and personal account.

Attack comes after Russian authorities initiated an administrative case against Larina in July, accusing her of failing to label her content with the "foreign agent" tag. Now in exile, Larina has been a vocal critic of the Kremlin and has reported for The Insider since fleeing Russia in 2017 due to threats.

The hacking of her channels is indicative of the increasing digital targeting of independent journalists who continue to defy the Kremlin in exile. These tactics are intended to silence critical voices and hinder their ability to inform the public.

Women Press Freedom condemns this hacking as yet another escalation in Russia's war on press freedom and stands in solidarity with Larina and all journalists persecuted in exile.
