Montenegro: WPF Condemns the Horrific Attack on Reporter Ana Raičković and Her Family
November 10, 2024 - Montenegro, Podgorica
Women Press Freedom condemns the brutal assault on journalist Ana Raičković in Podgorica by businessman Zoran Bećirović, his son, and a bodyguard. Raičković, a well-known reporter for Pobjedacg, was viciously attacked—punched, threatened with being “burned alive” if she didn’t stop her work, and had her head slammed against her car door.
Her son, who came to her defense, was pinned down and beaten; her fiancé was also assaulted, and the journalist's car was vandalized. This horrific attack left Raičković with injuries to her neck, head, and hands. The level of violence is utterly deplorable, and the attackers must face justice.
