Gaza: WPF Condemns the Killing of Palestinian Journalist Zahra Abu Sakheil in Israeli Airstrike

November 9, 2024 - Gaza, Gaza City

Women Press Freedom vehemently condemns the killing of Zahra Abu Sakheil, a Palestinian journalist who was killed alongside her brother and father in an Israeli airstrike while seeking refuge in a school shelter in Gaza City.

Zahra's death brings the total number of women journalists killed to 25 in this conflict. Palestinian journalists on the frontlines are risking everything to expose the human cost of war, only to become part of that horrific toll.

We firmly denounce Israel's ongoing assault on Gaza and demand accountability for Zahra’s life and every journalist killed in Gaza.
