Croatia: Ana Brakus Targeted in Vile Attack – Women Press Freedom Urges Authorities to Act

September 25, 2024 - Croatia, Zagreb

Ana Brakus, Executive Director of Faktograf, receives a vile letter containing soiled toilet paper—yet another attempt to intimidate journalists.

This follows smear campaigns and attacks on her colleagues, including the brutal assault of Melita Vrsaljko for climate reporting earlier this year.

Women Press Freedom condemns these threats and calls on Croatian authorities to act now to protect journalists and hold perpetrators accountable. The targeting of Faktograf staff cannot continue with impunity.
