الخرطوم،السودان، 15 أكتوبر،2020—ظهرت العديد من مذيعات التلفزيون الوطني بالسودان دون حجاب في انعكاس لحقبة الحرية الجديدة بالسودان. وقد اتخذن المذيعات هذه الخطوة نظرا لأن الحجاب كان إجباريا خلال حقبة البشير ولكنه لم يعد كذلك. يرحب تحالف النساء العاملات بالصحافة بهذه الخطوة وما تمثله من إزالة للقيود على الصحفيات والمذيعات وتسمح لهن بالتعبير عن أنفسهن بحرية.
Sudan: Sudanese Women Anchors Take A Further Progressive Step. Anchors Appear Without A Veil On National TV.
Several TV anchors on the Sudanese National TV recently appeared on screen with no veil, reflecting the new liberation era in Sudan. The anchors took this step as the veil was obligatory during the Al-Bashir regime but not anymore. The Coalition For Women In Journalism welcomes this step as it removes limitations on women journalists and anchors and allows them to represent themselves freely.
Sudan: Military General’s Attack On Female Journalists Is A Despicable Attack On Press Freedom
General Malaak Ayuen Ajok’s attack on two female journalists last week is another instance where press freedom has come under attack in the country. We condemn this attack and extend our complete support to the journalists who continue their work despite these extreme challenges.
