Nigeria: CFWIJ Condemns The Raid at Norah Okafor’s House
Officers from The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) broke into Norah Okafor’s house in the middle of the night without any prior notice. They harassed Norfah’s family and damaged her property without offering any reasons. According to Norah, they were armed men who came prepared in a vehicle and were around 25 in number. Norah is understandably shocked at this entirely unprovoked attack.
Trinidad And Tobago: CFWIJ Welcomes The Court Decision Against Police Raid On Trinidad Express Office
The Coalition For Women In Journalism welcomes the decision of Trinidad and Tobago high court against police raid, conducted at The Trinidad Express office on March 11, 2020. Police officers at the time raid checked the computer records, digital data, magazines and left the media house with four USB flash drives.
Belarus: CFWIJ Condemns The Illegal Raids At The Homes Of Journalists And Human Rights Activists By The Police.
Security forces raided the homes of several journalists and human rights activists earlier this month. Offices of the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) and Human Rights Center Viasna were also searched without any real grounds, in what appears to be a fresh crackdown on civil liberties by the authorities. Freelance journalist Larysa Shchyrakova was amongst those targeted.

Mezopotamya Ajansı (MA) muhabiri Dindar Karataş’ın gözaltına alınmasının ardından, ajansın Van Bürosu’na ikinci kez polis baskını düzenlendi. Arama sırasında büroda yedi kadın gazeteci bulunuyordu. Turkey: Police Raid The Mesopotamia Agency Office In Van For A Second Time
After arresting Mesopotamia Agency correspondent Dindar Karataş, the police raided the agency's Van office for a second time. During the search, seven female journalists were also at the scene. The police seized three computers and a few hard drives in the office. The Coalition For Women In Journalism condemns this unwarranted intrusion on the journalists and demands the office’s equipment be returned immediately.
Afghanistan: CFWIJ Is Alarmed By Afghan Police Raid On Photojournalist Tahereh Rezaei House.
Afghan police raided photojournalist Tahereh Rezaei's house, searched it without a warrant, and terrorized her and her guests. The Coalition For Women In Journalism condemns this grave violation of privacy and consequent threat to press freedom. We are alarmed for the safety of women journalists in Afghanistan.
