Mahkeme, geçen duruşmada olduğu gibi yine eksik unsurların giderilmesine hükmederek bir sonraki duruşmayı 10 Mart 2022’ye ertelendi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ), adalet talep ediyor. Adil yargılamalardan uzak davalara derhal son verilsin. Gazetecilik suç değildir.
Turkey: No Justice To Journalists Semiha Şahin And Pinar Gayip Again
The trial in which Etkin News Agency (ETHA) editor Semiha Şahin and reporter Pınar Gayip have tried charges of "being affiliated with a terrorist organization" and "spreading propaganda" was postponed for the 15th time. The court adjourned the next hearing to March 10, 2022 ruling again the missing elements should be eliminated. The Coalition for Women in Journalism (CFWIJ) demands justice for the journalists facing baseless charges. The cases that are far from fair trials should be ended immediately. Journalism is not a crime.

İpek Er’e cinsel saldırıda bulunan ve intihar ederek ölüme neden olan jandarma uzman çavuş Musa Orhan’a ilişkin yaptığı haber ve sosyal medya paylaşımı gerekçesiyle ETHA editörü Pınar Gayıp hakkında soruşturma açıldı. Gazeteci ‘terörle mücadelede yer almış kişileri hedef göstermek’le suçlanıyor. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak Pınar’a açılan soruşturmayı kınıyoruz. Yetkililere gazetecilik mesleğinin kamuoyunu ilgilendiren gelişmelere dair bilgilendirmekle sorumlu olduğunu hatırlatıyor, gazeteci hakkında atfedilen asılsız suçlamaya dair derhal takipsizlik kararı verilmesini talep ediyoruz. Gazetecilik suç değildir.
Turkey: Legal Probe Launched Against Pinar Gayip, Who Reported Rape Allegations Against Army Sergeant Musa Orhan
A legal inquiry has been initiated against Etkin News Agency reporter Pınar Gayıp under allegations of “targeting a counter-terrorism official”. Pınar reported army sergeant Musa Orhan’s rape of İpek Er, who died by suicide after she came forward with Orhan’s assault on her. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) condemns the legal harassment of journalists. We remind the authorities that such attempts to keep journalists from holding power to account are intolerable. We demand for legal action against Pınar based on unfounded allegations to be immediately halted. The CFWIJ reiterates, journalism is not a crime.
