Türkiye’de basın özgürlüğüne yönelik kısıtlamalar giderek artıyor. Gazeteciler Büşra Taşkıran ve Öznur Değer, Ankara’da yurttaşlarla yaptığı sokak röportajı sırasında turkuaz basın kartı olmadığı gerekçe gösterilerek polis tarafından engellendi. Gazetecilerin haber yapma hakkı yine ihlal edildi.

Restrictions on press freedom continue sharply in Turkey. Journalists Büşra Taşkıran and Öznur Değer were impeded by the police during their street interview in Ankara. The police claimed that journalists were not considered professionals because they did not have an official press card. Journalists' right to report was once again violated.
Bulgaria: CFWIJ Condemns The Violence Against Polina Paunova and Genka Shikerova At The Ruling Party Conference
Polina Paunova and Genka Shikerova, journalists for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty were physically attacked and verbally abused while covering a conference arranged by the ruling party, GERB. Masked men approached Polina when she tried to film them clashing with protestors present on location and physically assaulted her. The incident was caught on tape by her colleague Genka Shikerova, who claims that no one came to assist the two journalists.
Türkiye: Gazeteci Durket Süren’in Davası Yedinci Kez Ertelendi – CFWIJ Yineliyor, Gazetecilik Suç Değildir
Gazeteci Durket Süren hakkında “örgüt üyeliği”, “örgüte bilerek ve isteyerek yardım” ve “örgüt propagandası yapmak” suçlamalarıyla açılan davanın yedinci duruşması Diyarbakır’da görüldü. Mahkeme geçen duruşmada olduğu gibi gazeteci Süren’in el konulan telefon ve bilgisayarına ait dijital inceleme sonucunun beklemesyekarar verdi. Bir sonraki duruşma 13 Aralık 2021’de görülecek. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak çeşitli gerekçelerle ertelenen davaların gazetecileri sindirme amacıyla yapıldığına inanıyoruz. Tekrar söylüyoruz, gazetecilik suç değildir. Gazeteci Durket Süren derhal beraat edilmelidir.
Turkey: Journalist Durket Süren's Trial Adjourned For The Seventh Time - CFWIJ Reiterates, Journalism Is Not A Crime
The seventh hearing of the trial against journalist Durket Süren was held in Diyarbakır. Today, the court ruled again to wait for the digital examination report on Durket’s confiscated materials. The trial adjourned until December 13, 2021. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) considers those postponed trials for various reasons to be aiming to intimidate journalists. We reiterate once again, journalism is not a crime. Journalist Durket Süren should be acquitted immediately.

“Kobani olayları” veya bir diğer adıyla “6-8 Ekim olayları” olarak kamuoyunda bilinen ve 2014’te yaşanan protesto ve şiddet olaylarıyla ilgili açılan davanın, Ankara Sincan Ceza ve İnfaz Kurumları Kampüsü’nde görülen ikinci duruşmayı takip etmek isteyen yedi kadın gazeteci duruşma salonuna alınmadı. Gazetecilerin haber takip etme ve yapma hakkı ihlal edildi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ), Türkiye’de gazetecilere yönelik artan baskıları endişeyle takip ediyor. Türk yetkililerden basın ve ifade özgürlüğü kriterlerini dikkate alarak gazetecilerin mesleklerini icra etmelerine izin vermelerini talep ediyoruz.
Turkey: CFWIJ Condemns The Deliberate Ban Against Journalists To Follow Kobani Trial
Seven women journalists were deliberately prevented while following the Kobani Trial which took place in Ankara. The trial known as ‘Kobani’ was filed against 108 people, including Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, the former co-chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) is concerned about the escalating crackdown against journalists. We urge the Turkish authorities to take into account the criteria of the free press and allow journalists to freely do their job.
Italy: CFWIJ Condemns The Violence Faced By Antonella Alba While Covering Covid Related Protests
Journalist Antonella Alba was verbally and physically attacked at a demonstration rally against the COVID safety measures announced by the Italian government. The incident took place on August 28, while Antonella was covering the protest for Rai News 24. The journalist was abused by participants of the rally and incurred physical injuries in a scuffle that took place at the location. The security personnel on the ground had to eventually intervene in order to ensure her safety.

İstanbul’da Emek Barış ve Demokrasi Güçleri‘nin, düzenleyeceği 1 Eylül Dünya Barış Günü mitinginin engellenmesi üzerine yapılan basın açıklamasına polis müdahale etti. Müdahaleyi görüntüleyen gazeteci Eylem Nazlıer’in telefonuna polis el koymaya kalktı. Basın açıklamasını takip eden en az dört kadın gazeteci ise polis ablukasına alınarak haber yapma hakkı ihlal edildi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak gazetecilere karşı sürekli uygulanan polis şiddetini kınıyoruz. Türk yetkililerden, söz konusu baskılara derhal son verilmesini talep ediyoruz.
Turkey: Another Police Violence Against Women Journalists - CFWIJ Demands An Immediate End To Repression
At least five women journalists were impeded by the police forces while following September 1 World Peace Day demonstration in İstanbul. The police attempted to confiscate journalist Eylem Nazlıer’s phone, who was filming the police violence against the demonstration. At least four female journalists’ right to report was violated.
