Police violently broke up a peaceful vigil by the Peace Mothers in Silopiya, Şırnak. Many, including journalists Derya Ren (JINNEWS), Zeynep Durgut & Mahmut Altıntaş (MA), were detained.

A day later, the three journalists were finally released.

Women Press Freedom condemns this crackdown on press freedom and peaceful protest. Journalists must be free to report without facing police violence. We demand the reporters are immediately freed.
